• Family Engagement Coordinator: Tabitha Temple
• Assigned to our school for ECE/ Head Start Blended Model
• Will be extending services to grades who have need
• DCPS starting a Family Technology TaskForce
• Will be sending information to families via text message, possibly weekly
• Will be opt-in only
• LSAT Guidelines: similar to LSRT or SAB, but less structure mandated for required positions
• Budget planning for next year is coming soon; LSAT will act as an advisory team to make budget recommendations

PBIS: Positive Behavior System
• Caruthers attended PD and spoke to students currently involved in PBIS
• Focuses on positive behaviors in terms of Respectful Behavior, Responsible Behavior, and Safe Behavior.
• A few West teachers have already been trained and have worked in PBIS schools
• Rewards based on points; moving to the front of the lunch time, extra recess, lunch with Principal, etc.
Recruitment
• Lottery open from January 28 – February 28, 2011
• Registration opens in April
• Goals:
• Retention – keeping the students we have
• Siblings
• Neighborhood – keeping/ attracting in-boundary children
• DCPS has selected West as a targeted school to get additional support and funds for recruitment
