Welcome to PreKindergarten!

I'm so excited to meet the new Pre-Kindergarten class! 

About Me: I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and have lived in the Washington, DC area since 1995. I am excited to begin my third year as a teacher at West. When I'm not at school, I enjoy dancing, gardening, reading, making art, vintage shops, and visiting the countless museums and galleries in the city. 

Education: I graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Fine Arts and a concentration in Art Education. I am currently pursuing a MA in the Art of Teaching at Trinity College. I received my Early Childhood certification through the Center for Inspired Teaching, and am spending the summer mentoring new teachers in their program.

Favorite Book: Do I have to pick just one? I love books! "Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude" by Kevin O'Malley, and anything by Mo Willems

Hope and Dreams for the 2011-2012 School Year: My hopes and dreams are to help each of my students reach developmentally appropriate benchmarks in their academic, physical and social-emotional development so they are fully prepared to succeed in Kindergarten and beyond.
