2nd Advisory Awards Day & Black History Month Celebration

Please join us on Thursday, February 23, as we celebrate our students' success from the second advisory.  Our second awards day of the year will take place from 2:00 - 3:00 in the cafe.  We will also have student presentations in honor of Black History Month.

Art Updates

In collaboration with the Preschool and Prekindergarten teachers, the art room is also exploring building, construction, and measuring with the early childhood students at West!  So if your kids have outgrown their legos, building blocks, lincoln logs or any other building materials, please consider donating them to the art room to help our students explore their "Measure Up" unit with hands on activities.  Please contact Mrs. Bradley at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Family Reading Night - 2012

West Family Reading Night - Thursday, March 2, 2012

Join the West Family as we celebrate Read Across America Day, a celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday and literacy.  Come check out our family literacy event which encourages a life long love of reading and supports families to bring books into the home.  We invite our families and the West community to wear pajamas, enjoy a breakfast style dinner sponsored by IHOP and visit with three local authors.  The event is open to the public.

Through the tireless work of a committed group of parents we will be visited by 3 authors who will read their books, share their writing process with families and answer questions about what it takes to become a good writer.  We will also have a Scholastic Book Fair on site.  Click here to learn more.

Each West student will receive a book for home.  Parents who can donate are asked to contribute $10.00.  The PSCO will cover the costs for families who cannot afford a donation.
