Donor's Choose

Each teacher at West has developed a campaign for the 2011/12 school year on the Donor's Choose website. This campaign is to raise funds for specific items they need to support learning. These campaigns stay live until the teacher meets their fundraising goal. Some teachers have developed more than one campaign. Click here to see West's Donors Choose Campaigns.

Books in the Classroom

Supporting and encouraging a love of reading is important at West. West has a fully stocked library, a reading level appropriate library in each classroom and each year, in March, West hosts a book sale along with our Family Reading Night Events. To further support our students we encourage parents to have books at home. Each teacher at West has developed a reading list with Scholastic.com. Parents can purchase books directly from their child's class list. By purchasing online parents also put books in the classroom. For every purchase online Scholastic donates books to the class. To purchase books you need an account at Scholastic.com which you can set up here and the code for your teacher. Support Literacy!

Family Reading Night is just around the corner. On March 1, 3 authors will visit West to read from their books, make presentations on their writing and engage students and their families. Each child at West will receive a book. Families who can afford to donate are asked to give 10.00 towards the book purchase. The PSCO will cover the costs for the rest. If you would like to support a life long love of reading you can donate online, leave a check for the PSCO in the main office or donate at Family Reading Night.
