Let's Raise Readers
We're excited to announce the following activities this February to promote and enhance reading among West Scholars. 
Read-A-Thon

In celebration of Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, our scholars will Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) 25,125 in unison Monday, February 25th- Friday March 1st. 

Our goal for 2019 is to raise $1500 during this reading pledge drive.
•    $500 - will purchase electronic books (e-books)
•    $1000 - will purchase iPods for book QR Codes, small group instruction, live-translations​, and coding
•    $1500 - will purchase books & book jacket covers to maintain protective covering

We look forward to your support! 

Please spread the word to family, friends, and neighbors. Pledges of any amount are welcome and may be made online by February 28th), or returned in the envelope provided to your scholar.

Scholastic Bookfair (Online and in-Person)

This year we are hosting both an on-line and in-person bookfair. All proceeds support the school and support reading!

Online Book Fair dates are February 14- March 06.
 

Shipping for online orders:

Order by Monday 2/25/19 and the books will ship for free to the school during the week of the bookfair.


Orders received on or after Tuesday 2/26/19 will ship for free to the school after the online fair closes on March 6th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


In-person book fair dates:
 

  • Setup Thursday 2/21 5:30-6:30 pm (need volunteers)

  • Monday (2/25) student preview day, open 3:15-5 for purchase

  • Tuesday and Wednesday (2/26-2/27), open 9am until-5 pm for purchase

  • Thursday (2/28) open 9am until 3:30 and then 5:30-7:30 pm for purchase during family reading night!

  • We are looking for volunteers to work the fair: Please sign-up here!
